VP of Sales | Full Time | Hybrid/Remote
The VP of Sales at Midwest Railcar, LLC is a full-time, hybrid/remote, salary, commission, and performance-based bonus opportunities position responsible for daily sales activities; meeting with clients; territory management and development; railcar asset deployment and redeployment; obtaining and sharing market intelligence; and ensuring railcar fleet growth.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong relationships with prospective and existing customers, conducting market research to identify new opportunities, uncovering lease, sale, purchase, trade, brokerage, and fleet management opportunities, and traveling regularly to meet with customers and attend industry events.
The VP of Sales must stay informed and apply working knowledge of railcar equipment types and uses; customer and commodity requirements; industry supply, demand, and fleet trends; market lease rates and trends; and industry forecasts to develop and close transactions and share market insights with the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Build lasting relationships with our customers, prospects, and suppliers
- Develop assigned territory through prospecting, industry research, cold calls, email correspondence, and other forms of direct outreachÂ
- Identify opportunities to expand our client base
- Plan and coordinate customer travel and meetings to advance transactions, support closings, and develop and maintain customer relationships
- Attend sales and industry conferences
- Collaborate with the SVP-Sales as well as the fleet and mechanical departments, and others as necessary to validate transactions and identify opportunities
- Manage existing customer accounts and negotiate lease renewals
- Work closely with our customer service and operations teams
- Support the credit and accounting departments by coordinating on past-due invoices, payment status, and customer financial information
- Manage call and expense reporting as well as required administrative documentation
- Present information regarding clients and sales at company meetings
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales (preferably within the rail industry)
- Demonstrated successful sales record
- Ability to travel 50%+ as required
- Proven relationship management and business development capability
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive annual salary range of $100,000 to $200,000Â
